Akira Fudo tells his best friend Ryo Asuka that soon demons will be resurrected and take over the world. Humans have no chance in the fight against supernatural power, but Ryo sees salvation in merging with demons. Thus Akira becomes a devilman: a being with demonic abilities and a human heart.
