The events of the anime take place on Mermaid Island, where the main role is played by girls who are carriers of a strange, so-called 'weapon virus' — A. Such girls are divided into two classes, depending on their abilities: exsters, who transform into weapons when sexually aroused, and liberators, who are able to use the weapon form of exsters. Transformation is carried out through a process known as 'Drive', in which only a liberator and an exster that are suitable for each other can be involved.
The main story begins with the rescue of young Mamori Tokonome, who has just arrived on Mermaid to meet her future liberator Mirei Shikishima. Over time, strong partnership relationships develop between the girls, which more than once save them from the troubles into which they are drawn by newly acquired friends.
